Direct Care

We are proud to join the Direct Care movement, which allows us to provide excellent patient care that is not complicated by insurance companies.

Healthcare providers are contracted by insurance companies to provide care to their members. After services are provided, the providers are reimbursed for the care they gave. In many cases, the reimbursement is a small fraction of the fees the provider charges. This forces healthcare providers to artificially inflate their fees and/or prioritize quantity of patients over quality of care to compensate for this low reimbursement. This is where Direct Care comes in.

By removing the insurance company, we can focus on our patients and provide affordable care to patients who are under-insured, uninsured, out-of-network or those without a vision plan.

Those using VSP vision plan for their routine visit and/or optical purchases are ineligible for enrollment in Ray’s Direct Care. Those using Medicare or BCBS for their visit can enroll in Ray’s Direct Care for optical purchases.
