Vision Plan vs Medical Billing
Vision plans cover routine annual eye exams. A routine exam consists of:
Updating your prescription for glasses and/or contacts
Examination and testing to detect signs or risks of ocular disease
Vision plans give an allowance or discount toward the cost of materials- contact lenses or glasses. They may cover a portion of your contact lens evaluation fee.
An eye exam that is performed due to a known or suspected eye disease or condition is not a routine exam. This is a medical eye exam. Exams for conditions such as diabetes, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye disease, eye infections, and foreign bodies are not covered by vision plans and are billed to medical insurance.
While we do our best to verify insurance and vision plan benefits, it is ultimately your responsibility to understand your coverage, copay, and deductible.
No Show Policy
We ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This allows time for check-in to be completed before the appointment time begins. Patients who arrive 10 or more minutes after their scheduled appointment time will be seen at the doctor’s discretion. We may require that you reschedule your visit to another day.
Prescription Expiration
Glasses and contact lens prescriptions are valid for 1 year. A contact lens evaluation is required annually to renew your contact lens prescription. Expired prescriptions will not be honored/accepted.
Due to the custom nature of prescription glasses and sunglasses, all sales are final. If you are experiencing difficulties with your new glasses we will do our best to resolve any issues, including remaking lenses. Please let us know of within 30 days of picking them up. Refunds will not be given for the cost difference.
